The rivalry begins when young

La Grande and Baker City have a fierce rivalry in sports. Andrew and his sixth grade team played Baker's sixth grade team this Saturday and won. They will play each other for the next six years!

We got rid of the old upright piano that no one played and this is what I did with the spot. I like the wooden ironing board. We do need a better bookshelf than the old crates. I want to paint the dark bookshelf a lighter color and we want to get a cozy wing back chair to read in. Other than that it is perfect. hmmm maybe a rug...

I found this pattern on marthasteward.com. It was a button card and I turned it into a framed work of art. Ha! It makes a nice VT present.

The Shadow

I rented a costume this week end. It was The Shadow; "What evil lies in the hearts of men." I looked it up on the internet and I had the red scarf and black fedora. The young man wanted black suspenders, too. He said it was fun, they had a party, watched a video and then went to Denny's.

Beaver Creek Campout - November 2008

We expected cold and got it. We did not expect snow and got it anyway. We slept warm, ate Andrew's campfire cooking, saw lots of animal sign and went for a 5 mile hike.

Anrew's first choir concert

Andrew had the choice of band or choir at the La Grande Middle School. He chose choir. He really enjoys it though his expression belies his enjoyment.

12-Hour Drug Free Relay

Every year the La Grande community puts on a 12-hour long relay to help support efforts to create a drug-free community. Team members take turns carrying the baton from 10:00 a.m to 10:00 p.m. Here is Luke showing how it is done.
