Happy New Year!

     Happy New Year!

Found Bruce in the dining area eating French Toast. He can't quite cut it himself. Oly the PT man suggested we use one of the foam handles to help with his grip. He brought us two of them. If you leave them on the food tray they get thrown away.
Bruce gets chilled all the time and I don't like the warm room. Our house is always cooler and he tells us to put on a sweatshirt. Stephanie a nurses aide suggested when we get home we can use an electric blanket, (we have one of those) or heat up some blankets in the dryer. I can do both of those ideas.
No OT today. They will make up the time on the weekend.
Bruce is sleeping. I am looking up what food items there are on the menu.
Bahn Mi is a Vietnamese sandwich using a type of French bread with meat, cucumbers, pickled carrots and other spicy ingredients.
Gnocchi is small dumplings, I will have to try that.
Hoppin' Johns is a southern side dish, black eyed peas, white rice, onion and garlic.
Lamb Vindaloo is a a spicy curry. I will try that if it is not too spicy. I like lamb. Bruce likes spicy.
The PT man is here Todd, he is a quiet man, he does things without being asked, quiet and efficient. I remember his name from Sweeney Todd. He says don't go there.
Oly asks if Bruce is ready for the Gumby treatment. They stretch and move his legs and talk about the Bronco game.
They move off to the next patient.  Bruce falls back to sleep. I lay down and rest for a bit.
Lunch was cheese manicotti, breadstick, lemonade, and vanilla custard.
More rest. I look for things to do in Boise. I read the list to Bruce. He wants to go to the aquarium. We can go there on Saturday. We will rent one of the wheelchair accessible minivans and this is where we will go.
Off to the dining area for some Duck football. I helped a young girl, Sammy work a 300 piece puzzle, her father is here. She said they would be here for two weeks. Her mom gave me permission to use her name and picture on the blog. The puzzle is firm grip so easier for gripping. Bruce even did a section.

Our friend Ken ate dinner with us. He wasn't doing very well, he had a blood transfusion, 2 pints and is looking a lot better today. He was watching the duck game in his room.
Dinner was late, the printing machine wasn't working to print their order. When it arrived it was turkey, gravy, smashed taters, green beans, salad with blue cheese dressing and strawberry cheesecake.
Finished the duck game, go ducks!
Returned to our room. Read scriptures together, headed for my Boise home.
