Three Weeks

Bruce had an English muffin, bacon, cheese and egg sandwich for breakfast.
OT this morning started out with pulleys, then on to weight lifting, and finally the arch.
I left to pick up some missionary suits, a white shirt and black tie, and on to the mall for an Oregon Duck shirt for Bruce so he will have something fun to wear on Monday.
In PT they had rigged an obstacle course for him with the front wheel wheelchair, he needed to practice turning right when he gets in the mini van so he can ride shot gun. He said he liked it better than the mid wheel. Incidentally it is called a power chair, the electric chair is too close to what executioners use... I was politely corrected on that one, don't want you to make the same mistake. The front wheel power chair will be better for him to get around in the back yard for his fruit trees and berry bushes.
Retail therapy was a success. I found a green duck shirt for him. Then found out they are supposed to wear yellow to the game. Oh well Bruce is not a person that wears yellow.
I ordered a motion sensor soap descender and it arrived today! Bruce can't reach one and the other one he can't make work. Of course I had the wrong size battery. Fortunately the gift shop had batteries. Bruce said he used it before dinner tonight.

When I returned to the hospital he was sitting in the Kermit position on the mat. He is balancing really well now. They put his legs down and had him balance from side to side. He started pushing on the PT trainer's hands as they faced each other to help with balance too.
Heard Brahms lullaby, another baby was born.
OT was another wax job, (you think I can borrow a bit for my upper lip?) planning some food to cook, they decided on coffee cake, a one pot, one pan meal, and then ranging in his left hand and wrist.
We had visitors after therapy today. Heather, Ryan and David Murphy popped in for a visit. They are on their way to a job interview with a stop in La Grande.
Dinner was chicken and Mac and cheese, green salad and a small cup of vanilla pudding.
We stayed in the dining area and worked another puzzle. We left some of it, (the hard part with all black pieces) for our young friend Sammy to finish. We saw Ken the stroke man, walking today with a walker and he was doing the stairs. We didn't see Ken the Bronco man, will have to go look him up and see if he is doing alright. The young boy was smiling and walking around and bouncing a ball today. He is improving fast.
Headed back to the room. I took Bruce's blanket to wash, it hasn't been washed in a couple of weeks. Three weeks and we get to go home! Yeah!
