Friends That Care

Breakfast was scrambled eggs, 2 links of sausage, nasty cooked potatoes, a banana, Apple juice, and milk. He ate everything but the nasty taters.
OT was 10 min. on the hand bicycle, not the shock machine (they found out he only has 20% of his muscle that is being used so they are not using the electro shock machine any more) walking his fingers up the peg board, lifting a 2 lb weight in front of his body and across his body, that helps to stretch out the muscles.
This is the peg board. He walks his fingers up one side and puts the rings on the pegs too.
He was dizzy this morning so he went back to bed after OT. He had an hour to rest. PT was done in bed with ranging, stretching and moving his legs.
Code blue, fifth floor, south tower, 5430, that is two floors above us, is on the intercom. Code blue means someone is about to die. They must have called a code blue when Bruce flatlined.
The bid is in. Our contractor can begin work as soon as the committee approves. I have a list of things for Andrew and I to do too.
Lunch was beef strip burrito and a fruit plate.
PT was leg ranging warm up, the balance on the edge of the at with legs down. They had him sit with palms flat and to his sides. He can't make a fist with his left hand, it hurts too much. Then they had him sit with a wedge behind him and try to sit forward, more ab workout.
OT was the hand wax and then stretching. She measured the strength of his hand and his right hand is up to 30. He is getting stronger.
Pam and Gary Howland stopped in with chocolate. Yeah! We had a nice visit. They are here for chemo. We haven't seen them in a while. They are fighting a hard battle and they came to lift us up. Amazing.
Audrey Lawrence came for a brief visit. We had a short chat and a prayer with her. It is good to see her. It brought tears to my eyes that she cares so much and comes to see us each week.
Bruce had a quiet time and took a nap.
Dinner was chili and cheese with crackers, salad and a vanilla milkshake. I found the tapioca pudding.
After dinner we set yearly goals. We set goals for family, health, increase knowledge, social, service, spiritual and moral strength. We are supposed to review the goals once a month. I usually last about two months, take a break and then worry about them at the end of the year. The only thing constant is change. Deep.
Cinderkaren took a load of dirty laundry to wash at my Boise my home.

This is what I saw at church yesterday. I thought is was cute.

I love the goals you set. Increased knowledge covers a big area doesn't it? and of course you'll be keeping up with the blog. The high point of my day. On Sunday we were all set for 11 a.m. church, even David was going, then the furnace at the church broke. So it was a stay home day. I'm glad Bruce got to share his strong testimony
